February 14-21 Brian went to fake war and I went home for a few days. We were told he wouldn't come home on the 14th but, as I should know by now, it's the Marine Corps. Don't take anything to heart until it happens. So I get a call around 6 PM saying he can come home for dinner but he only has about 60-70 minutes. So I quickly got all the stuff together and made Creamy Cajun Chicken Pasta. As soon as he was done eating, he had to leave.
So now it was good bye, Brian for a few days, Hello home for a few days.
Wednesday morning my friend, Erica, took me to the airport to catch my flight home. Dulles is definitely a maze compared to Baltimore and Kansas City! I had a layover at Chicago-Midway and almost missed my connecting flight because I thought Gate A4A and A4B were in the same little room because of a sign...Not so much. My gate, A4B was down a little further in a corner. I heard the announcement say "Now accepting all boarding passes for flight #### to Kansas City." I jumped up asked the lady at the counter about it and she was like, "Oh, thats out there around the corner to your right." Luckily I wasn't the only one. There were like 10-15 people behind me. After all that, I finally made it home andmy parents picked me up from the airport. My sister didn't want to come since she needed to catch up on some TV shows. (She loves me. Can you tell?)
My mom took that Thursday & Friday off to hang with me. We went shopping and to Chipotle for lunch and then watched a movie at the house on Thursday. That night we all went out to Logan's for Brian's brother's 16th birthday. It was a fun time!
Friday we were able to have lunch with my friend Liz at Steak n' Shake (I LOVE this place!) and then Liz and I went to the movies to see The Vow. It was a good movie IMO.
Saturday I stayed at home and people came to our house to see me. It was easier than trying to go to everyone's house in 2 days. Sunday I was on a plane coming back here to Virginia.
I had a great time at home and it was nice to see everyone. Hopefully I can go back soon!
Brian got to come out of the field a day early too! So I took him his Taco Bell he says he deserves around 10 PM and then a clean uniform around 1 AM. He's lucky I love him for that 1 AM stuff! :-)
